About Us

Coleto Coal Combustion Products receives the Bottom Ash from Coleto Creek Power Station in a liquid form, being propelled with water to the ash pond. At the Ash pond we run the sluiced bottom ash over a ¼” screen to separate the large material from the small. The bottom ash then settles out and separates from the water. We then stock pile the two types of bottom ash for future sale.

Once the material dries it is loaded into dump trucks and sold.

When it becomes necessary to grade out a cleaner specific grade of material we take the stock piled material and load it into a screening machine that again separates the large from the small bottom ash. In this screening process we again use water to wash the product to get a cleaner product.

The clean grades of Bottom ash that are to be used for grit blasting material are then separated using a conveyor and sand screw to separate the light weight material from the heavier material.

The clean graded heavy bottom ash is then conveyed into bulk trucks for sale or loaded into a bulk bin. The material loaded into the bulk bin is be bagged and put on pallets to be sold.

We also reclaim Flyash from the Ash pond at Coleto Creek Power Station. The Flyash that isn’t sold directly from the plant is sluiced into the ash pond once it dries out we bust it up with our excavator and dozer to be used for soil stabilization. When the flyash is tilled into the ground, then wetted down and compacted it becomes extremely hard.
